The Best Bar in New Orleans (And Quite Possibly the World) Rating: 5/5 Stars – A French Quarter Essential If you are looking for the soul of New Orleans, look no further than Erin Rose. This place is the gold standard for atmosphere, decor, and pure, unadulterated hospitality. Let’s talk about the staff, because they are in a league of their own. Brooke is truly one in a million. She isn’t just a bartender; she’s the reason people keep coming back to this city. Honestly, I have to practically force myself to get up and leave, or I’d spend my entire vacation sitting at her counter. She makes you feel like the most important person in the room. Steven is also a fantastic guy—professional, friendly, and exactly who you want behind the pine. And a word of advice for the tourists: Don’t waste your time wandering from bar to bar searching for the "best" Frozen Irish Coffee. If you do, you’re just wasting daylight. Erin Rose has the best in the city, hands down. It’s consistent, delicious, and life-changing on a hot NOLA day. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this isn't just a bar—it’s a destination. Do yourself a favor: get to Erin Rose, find a stool, and stay a while. You won’t regret it. WE LOVE YOU Lieutenant Dan

You wouldn’t think to get a poboy here but you have to!! Their roast beef poboy is the best I’ve had in NOLA. and their Irish coffee with extra shot of Jameson is the perfect combo chef kiss!

Such a cute lil spot! I grabbed some Irish coffee (really good) and hanged there for a while with a group of friends. Not much seating room but the vibes were worth the standing up. I'd recommend for a short visit to get the vibes of a NOLA bar.

Great service, great frozen Irish coffee, great prices! $5 beers, cocktails etc in NOLA is a awesome. Easy to find but a tiny space so I can imagine it fills up quick. Very cool decor. TINY BATHROOM, you can’t even turn around 😂 but Worth the stop even if it’s just for one frozen coffee 😎I didn’t eat here ( kitchen wasn’t open yet)

We only popped into Erin Rose for a couple drinks, but it instantly felt like one of those bars you’re glad you found. If you close your eyes and picture what a great New Orleans bar should look like, dim lights, character, a little grit, great energy, that’s exactly what you get here. The drinks were a solid five out of five, and the service was just as good. Friendly, quick, and exactly what you want when you’re stepping in for a couple rounds. We didn’t try any food, so can’t speak to that, but as a place to grab a drink and soak up a real New Orleans bar atmosphere, Erin Rose absolutely delivers. It’s definitely a spot anyone visiting the city should make time to check out.

This place is just off Bourbon, but doesn’t carry the price tag. They have a minimum $10 for card payment (no Apple Pay), so you need to purchase two drinks. But, I spent $11 for both where I spent $14 elsewhere for one! The poboys are incredible, and are at the back of the bar. Well priced, and delicious. This place is a must-visit!

We’d been told that the best place to try NO’s famed frozen Irish coffee was here, steps away from Bourbon Street. We arrived at the start of their advertised Happy Hour (10 am- 2 pm) and found this small bar packed with tourists and locals alike. The bartender was friendly, and sure could hustle even with the large amount of people in this tiny space. There’s no tables, just bar seating, if you’re lucky enough to get an available stool. The frozen concoction of Irish whiskey, cream, coffee, sugar and ice was delicious. Even the non coffee lovers enjoyed it as tastes more like a boozy chocolate milkshake. We were charged more than what’s shown on their website (still cheaper than other places) so we should have gone with the regular size which includes a souvenir cup. The place is a cornucopia of cool stuff, even on the ceiling, with so many interesting people hanging out, and is definitely worth a visit. We understand there’s food available in the back room-we’ll check it out next time.

Visiting New Orleans from Pennsylvania over the Fourth of July, we asked a few locals near our hotel where we could find a true neighborhood dive bar. Every road seemed to lead to Erin Rose, and they absolutely nailed it. This place has everything you want in a dive bar—cold drinks, zero pretentiousness, and a crowd that makes you at home. The bartenders were the real stars of the show. Super engaging, quick with a drink, and happy to chat. We ended up getting a fun history lesson on Vodoo and she made the experience even more memorable. The biggest surprise? There's an incredible po'boy spot tucked in the back, so you can grab tasty sandwich a few steps from your barstool. If you're looking to skip the tourist traps and experience a genuine New Orleans neighborhood bar, this is the spot. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town.

This is always a great place to stop and get a frozen Irish coffee. The bar is usually pretty full so I typically take the frozen drink and walk down the street during the day which is great in all the heat. Bartenders are pretty fast so you don’t have to wait too long. And if you’re hungry in the back of the bar, they also have food available. The Po boys and grilled cheese sandwich are pretty good.i was surprised.
